The Center for Reproductive Health does not actively seek applicants to become an egg (oocyte) donor. All egg donors are procured through specialized centers that strictly deal with egg donors. These centers will have the potential donor subjected to an extensive and detailed screening to ensure their suitability as donors. Their screening includes an extensive questionnaire that includes questions about their personal, social, psychological, family, and medical history. A follow-up interview and subsequent complete physical examination will also be performed at the clinic. They must be dependable, healthy women, between 18-30 years of age, who have passed medical, infectious disease, genetic and psychological evaluations and drug screens. The egg donation centers will have an active list of egg donors of diverse ethnic groups who have been selected after they have met their medical and genetic screening standards. The egg donation centers are periodically screening and adding egg donors to their program list. Though the donation is anonymous, we will reveal many things about the donor except her identity. This is important, because it will enable the recipient to make an informed choice about the appropriateness of the proposed egg donor. In addition, once the recipient gets pregnant, it will serve as a record about the genetic background of the child(ren).
You may be an ideal candidate as an egg donor if:
- You have passed successfully all required physical, medical and genetic testing.
- You are a reliable, dependable person interested in helping women overcome their infertility.
- You are between 18-30 years of age.
- You are willing to follow our instructions closely.
